Deadroot

Basic Info

Alias: Deadroot

Real Name: Reginald Bushroot (from Posiverse)

Nicknames: No nicknames known

Age: When he died he was as old as original Bushroot was when he mutated

Species: Duck/Doomed One/Half-Plant-Mutant

Occupation: Villain

Relationships: Splatter Phoenix (kind of girlfriend)

Super powers: When he appears first he is a normal doomed one, his only power being a very limited (and exhausting) control over dead plants. When he is reanimated and tries his experiment again, he becomes kind of a plant-necromancer, controlling dead plants or part of them easily. Unlike the other Bushroots he can not really talk to them or let them fulfill his orders while he is absent, the control only works when he can see the plant he uses. Himself he considers his main power his knowledge and talent in the field of genetics. Since his heart is still bound to hell he can not be transformed into a Heartless, but when he finds out, he isn’t very pleased, cause this means Beelzebub still has some control over him.

Weaknesses: He is not a skilled fighter and can be very fearful. Additionally he is kind of ignorant towards the outcomes of his experiments, even if they may turn against him and he definitely lacks self-esteem. Since he doesn’t grow back as easy as the other Bushroots he uses a special glue to reunite lost parts with his body, what makes him vulnerable when the glue isn’t yet dry.

Appearance: In the beginning he looked like the other Bushroots before mutating, but after his second self-experiment he looks more like Bushroot in his half-plant form, only the green parts being grayish and the blossom-hair looking kind of burned.

Personality

On the first look he resembles the other Bushroots with low self-esteem and little cautiousness, but indeed he is much more greedy and selfish and sometimes sadistic.

Biography

His life was much like the original Bushroot’s one, besides the detail, that everything is nicer in the Posiverse and that annoyed him sometimes. His budget was never cut, contrariwise every strange experiment with any chance of success was well financed. He considered this, and many other things, as a total waste of resources the government could instead use to grow more powerful. So he made a plan to create a living weapon, at least a full army of living weapons to rule the world and make an end to this reign of goodness. When Gary and Larson found out about his plans he killed them, but now he knew he had to hurry, to come to power before someone else got the clues. So he tried to transform himself into the half-plant being he wanted to create. But since the level of magic in the Posiverse is the lowest of all three universes he failed and died.

Beelzebub found him evil enough to become a demon, but his self-esteem wasn’t enough, so he became only a Doomed One. Later he met Splatter Phoenix (who was a demon) and they both learned how to come back to life by stealing it from living travelers. Indeed their information was false. Stealing life could make them alive pro forma, but didn’t give them their original bodies. Since Beelzebub wanted them back on earth, he arranged re-animation. When they indeed stole life, the same time the Phantom Blot tried to re-animate the puddle which was Splatter’s body. Since there was a possibility to inhabit her original body again, Splatter was automatically sucked to earth and Bushroot managed to hold her so he could get with her and the puddle formed two bodies.

Bushroot from Posiverse, now living in the Neutroverse, worked for the Phantom Blot and sometimes with Splatter on some living art. After a few years, when the colour body was part for part replaced by a organic matter during natural growing processes, he tried to transform himself again, believing it had to work like it did with this world’s Bushroot. Indeed he didn’t die this time, but he also didn’t get the powers he wanted. Since this day he calls himself Deadroot and works as a hired mad scientist who creates every creature for everyone who can afford him.
