Biography
Professor Moliarty and his mole brethren live beneath the surface in a world of darkness. They cannot venture above ground due to the sun being harsh on their eyes and skin.
But the Professor believes that the world above is ripe for the conquering. Using his Kineto Beam, he moves the moon in front of the sun, plunging the world into eternal darkness. It’s his dream for the under-dwellers to rule the world, with himself as their leader.
What he didn’t count on was Darkwing Duck showing up and thwarting his plans for world domination. He later returns in an another attempt to destroy the surface world, which appears to be his main M.O.
He is extremely greedy and enjoys taking advantage of those who are innocent and naive, including his fellow moles. When he ventures above ground during the day he requires sunglasses to protect his eyes from the bright light.
Facts about Moliarty:
- His name is obviously a play on the infamous Sherlock Holmes villain, “Professor Moriarty”.
- Moliarty’s debut episode, “That Sinking Feeling” is Tad Stones’ favourite episode. It was the first episode in the series ever produced, and he was very pleased with the animation quality.
