Dragoneye can appear greedy and hungry for power, and indeed you can say, she is, but she does not want to control others, she just wants to be as free and independent as possible and not have to think about others anymore.
She is very straight-lined to her goals and often has a perfect plan in mind, but is helpless if the situation changes and she has to improvise. She doesn’t like to harm others, but if it’s necessary for achieving her goals, she has no problem doing it.
Biography (click to expand)
Samira Khan was born in a once rich and still wealthy family. She had the typical rich-girl’s-childhood and she liked everything of it besides the rules. Rules of her family, her school, the society she should belong. Additionally her family was wealthy, but not as wealthy as her mother always claimed, and so she got everything she wanted, but few money to spend herself. It was her, often called weird, aunt, her mother’s sister, who showed her the other side of the family. The magical side.
Samira liked the idea of not only breaking the rules of society, but rules many people considered natural laws, too. Since she proved she had natural magic abilities and Dean McHex always allowed nearly or complete normal students, she was accepted at the Eldritch Academy. Though, after taking the third grade three times, she saw that she had no talent for magic. A witch’s blood and a sorceress’ heart, but a normal’s brain, her teacher named the problem. So she left the academy but remained inside the monster’s society to find a way to come to power without being a witch or a sorceress herself. And in an old book about dragons she found it.
What’s following now is a spoiler to my story Drachenauge or Dragoneye what I want to name it, if I ever translate it into English.
She found the legend of Vermithrax eyes. She knew that one of the eyes was in the Eldritch Academy, petrified to an emerald. But she had no idea where the other one was. So she learned the way to find one eye with the help of the other and Vermithrax head with both eyes, she learned to break into a magical guarded building and to fight to defend herself just for the case. She broke into the Eldritch Academy and made it to the Hall of Dragons, but had to flee when Caius saw her. He didn’t recognize her, cause the years she was student of the academy he was on an expedition, but of course he realized, she shouldn’t be there. When she tried to get the eye again, Darkwing Duck was waiting for her and she was captured.
She claimed to want the emerald to find the treasure of the Order of the Dragon and be the only one able to find it, because of her special training. Caius stated, they couldn’t miss the chance to find this treasure but nobody trusted Samira so Samira, Morgana, Caius, Darkwing and Launchpad searched for it together. They found the second eye in the desert of Oilrabia and the secret treasure chamber of the Order of the Dragon in Transylvania in the Carpathians. There indeed was a great treasure, including several dragon-related artifacts, one of them Vermithrax’s petrified head.
When the others were distracted by the treasure, she put the eyes into the eyeholes and performed the ritual she learned from the book and Vermithrax gave her her powers and her green eyes, making Samira Khan Dragoneye. By controlling the dragon-artifacts in the room she easily defeated Morgana and Caius and Launchpad was still stuck in a trap so only Darkwing could fight her. During this fight she had to realize that she hadn’t as much control over the artifacts as she should have according to the book and her fire wasn’t as powerful as it should have been.
Then Vermithrax head awakened and the artifacts turned against Dragoneye, causing her to flee. Accidentally she activated a trap and fell into a deep hole. Since he couldn’t sense her, Caius believed her dead, but indeed she had found another way out of the hole. Caius found out, what went wrong: Samira had mixed up the eyes and put the right one in the left hole and vice-versa.
Later Dragoneye came to St. Canard to steal jewels, create henchman out of dragon teeth and steal the time top to find an ancient dragon king. Even later she came to Tri City with similar plans and became a regular antagonist to Quiverwing Quack. And there she still is.
