Real Name: Caius Decius Sanguineus (Strange coincidences between name and fate seem to be usual in this universe. Wonder if people know themselves)
Nicknames: Well… some students call him Pretty Boy, but this doesn’t happen very often, if at all.
Age: Born in 97 B.C
Occupation: More hero than villain
Relationships: He doesn’t like other undead and tries not to have feeling for mortals. Morgana sees him as a friend, and Darkwing sees him as a rival, but Caius feelings remain hidden.
Super powers: He owns the normal vampire-specific powers, such as superhuman strength, night vision, a special sense for magic (and any life around him), regeneration and the ability to store and use magic without any device. He is especially skilled in healing spells and necromancy and of course he can levitate. Like many vampires he is supernaturally attractive to females and gay males, but I don t know if you can call this a super power
Weaknesses: Well, he is vulnerable to sunlight, which doesn’t kill him instantly, but painfully burns. He is weak and helpless after only a few days without human blood, and he can’t exist without any magic. Additionally he often underestimates people who are younger than him, which are most.
Appearance: A tall duck with short black hair. Looks like he’s in his thirties as he was when he was transformed into an undead. Often wears a formal outfit and combs his hair back, to look like a vampire from a movie, without revealing his fangs.Personality (click to expand)
Caius tries to fulfill the expectations set in a vampire, and he does well. He is polite, you can even say knightly (indeed he was a knight once), cool and reserved, professional, a little vain and arrogant. He hides a much bigger arrogance, which he owned even as a mortal and was increased by him being a vampire and superior to even other roman patricians.
Laws mean nothing to him, cause he saw come and go many different concepts, but he doesn’t want to harm anyone, so he accepts the law, as long as it’s not in conflict with his plans. He often feels other people should know more about the times he saw himself and sometimes he misses some of his past lives, so he is interested in archeology and collects antiques.
Biography (click to expand)
Caius was a patrician and an unimportant senator in ancient Rome and in most conflicts chose Gaius Iulius Caesars side. In these days he knew a guy called Launchpad, who claimed to be from a distant future and indeed owned a strange construction which one day vanished with him without a trace. It was in Caesar’s order when Caius investigated about a cult worshipping old etruscan gods and maybe sacrificing humans in 63 B.C. He found out that every rumor about this cult was true, but they sacrificed only slaves and performed their rituals outside the city, so this was completely legal.
Caius didn’t give up and tried to find something illegal in this cult, so the high-priestess (a human looking monster) sent two creatures called Lamia after him. They attacked him and tried to kill him and it would have worked, if he hadn’t wounded one of the two. The Lamias blood got in his veins and he completely regenerated. He wasn’t a real vampire yet, but his transformation had begun and after a few days of feeling sick he was.
In the first time he had problems to control his thirst for blood, but nobody missed the poor slave standing near to his bed and later he was able to hide his secret and get blood from a doctor he knew a long time. During the centuries he filled many roles and did many jobs. Sometimes he met monsters and even other vampires, but most of them were rivals or enemies to him. In the early eighteens century he finally found into the society of monsters, which made it far more easily for him to get the blood he needed. He visited the Eldritch Academy, graduated and was offered a job as a teacher. He was teacher to Moloculo McCawber, Magica DeSpell and of course Morgana. Today he still does his job.
