The site is tentatively fixed. I say "tentatively" because it appears to be running well and hopefully will continue to do so. Thank you for your patience!

background - Sophie's introduction to racing began with her father who worked as a technician at a carbon composite and electronics R&D facility, St. Laurent Systems, in Montreal, Quebec. As the demand for carbon composites and other specialized products increased, the company quickly grew to meet the growing international market. Various racing and professional athletic teams with needs for specialized, high-end components became prominent clients of St. Laurent Systems. The company began testing and developing high-quality products such as yacht masts and various automotive and aerospace parts.

Once the company had become internationally renown through its quality work and flexible capabilities, BMW Motorsport GmbH requested that the company answer its racing needs. After a brief withdrawal from high-level automotive competitions, BMW returned to the professional racing world in full force. As the automotive corporation and St. Laurent Systems built up a friendly relationship, Sophie's father became reacquainted with the auto racing industry. Through the close relationship with her father, Sophie learned of the company's importance and the racing industry. Because her father was an employee of St. Laurent Systems, which was a close partner of BMW Motorsport, he was able to attend many racing events at a discounted rate. This added benefit, granted by the company, afforded Sophie's father, family and herself to attend racing events often. However, Sophie and her father enjoyed racing events more than her mother and sister. This extra enjoyment and appreciation of racing was mainly due to their special Father-Daughter bonding through their mutual enjoyment of racing and sports. Additionally, Sophie's father, Jean Sarcelle, had once driven in competitions and had assisted in mechanical work for a small team toward the last years of the Can-Am series.

Soon enough, Sophie and her father began as an amateur kart racing team competing in small regional races. Their mutual respect and enjoyment of racing, plus the athletic and mental talents of Sophie, allowed the two to rise through the ranks winning multiple junior-level racing events. The dramatic rise in performance and skill of Sophie allowed her to continue a promising racing career. Amateur kart racing quickly evolved into professional kart racing and sports car racing complete with a full professional crew and sponsorships. Meanwhile, Sophie's appreciation of and enjoyment of motorsport racing mirrored her ever-growing abilities, experience and fame. After several more notable performances, St. Laurent Systems decided to sponsor her in the Formula 3 series. This announcement caused great elation for her and her father. Sophie quickly jumped at the gracious offer and found herself competing in one of the highest levels of motorsport competition at the young age of 20.

After two successful years in the formula 3 series, including finishing in sixth place overall for her 1st season and second place overall at the end of her 2nd season, Sophie became a motoring icon. Her exponential improvements and list of achievements throughout her years as a GT and F3 racer caught the attention of BMW and a parade of sponsorships. The ultimate racing spectacle of Formula One beckoned her to the cockpit of BMW's first race car since its departure from the series several years earlier. Though her mother resented her decision to enter in such a dangerous field of "work", along with few skeptical thoughts of her own, Sophie decided to move on the offer before the opportunity slipped away. Soon after, countless days and nights were dedicated to simulator driving, test-driving, debriefings, sponsor dinners, technical meetings and company conferences. All of this effort would culminate into a successful first year in the F1 series for Sophie and would etch her name in racing fame as the most successful woman driver in Formula One to date. This milestone instantly raised her popularity and helped to entice a plethora of sponsorships and fans for BMW Motorsport. The slogan for her part-time GT career became, "BMW eMPower".

However, with success and popularity came great demands and stress. Immediately after her first season, where she achieved 7 podium finishes, 3 fast laps, and 1 victory, Sophie was thrown into a maelstrom of rigorous virtual testing and strategy planning. Nearly all of her free time disappeared into a full calendar of press conferences, sponsor events and dinners, seminars, training, team and company meetings, and traveling across the world. In an attempt to escape the stress of her racing career, Sophie decided to settle into a modern condominium in downtown St. Canard. St. Canard offered excitement, culture, adventure, and plenty of venues to explore in her precious free time. Her home in Montreal offered an equally impressive array of entertainment and services in addition to placing her closer to her family. But, St. Canard was only a couple hours away by private jet if she really wanted to visit her family. The idea of a slightly different culture and vibrant city life was enough to persuade Sophie to move to the metropolis and settle into a downtown condo that would likely remain vacant for most of the next racing season. Thankfully, she could now afford the expense due to her renegotiated contract with BMW. The company even gifted her a new sporty version of the i8 hybrid sports car. Thus, Sophie moved to St. Canard and would soon meet a charming mallard in a downtown farmers market.

"Let's play nice, okay. Besides, I think both of you are dressed nicely!" Well, the hats might be a few decades out of style... Maybe they're rival hipsters?
