Normally she would question why they were going to Malicia’s… but it worked out better for her if they did.

She also did not bother questioning if he would be there. She had a sneaking suspicion that he would be at some point or another. But… she had a job to so, and she intended to do it… once Scarlet had her eyes set on something, she went after it with her all.

“It’s a date.” she downed the rest of her drink.

"Tonight." Because I'm spontaneous. "My place. Wear something fun."

Which translated into 'something insanely inappropriate'.

        "Be there around 10pm."

“Mm. Very well.” She poured herself a drink then handed the bottle to Malicia, knowing full well the demoness would simply finish it off.

“When, and what will the attire be?” she lifted her glass for a sip.

"For the most part. That, and it's simply been too long since we've gone out." Her tail swished happily at the sight of the liquor. This seemed to be moving along agreeably.

"We'll start at my place and work our way from there..."

Expression shifted to ‘ah hah’. “I’d heard rumors…” Scarlet admitted smoothly before pulling back to straighten up. “So I take it he is the cause of celebration?” She reached down to open her desk drawer and pull out a bottle of whiskey.

"Well, there is one thing..." Like a giddy young girl, bursting to tell her secret.

Leaning in closely to hiss. "He's really back. He's alive."

You know exactly who I mean.

Brow raised, she watched the demoness. “Something different about you too…” she countered lightly. “You are in quite a delicious mood… What foul thing have you done?”

Scarlet moved to stand now, and without hesitation, leaned right in to look up at Malicia, eyes narrowing slightly. “The last time I saw you like this was when you took me to show me your collection…”

Volley the topic back to one Malicia enjoyed… herself.

"Nothing is common about me Scarlet and you know it." She rumbled darkly.

She paused, and lingered on her features, looking her up and down.

"There is something... different, about you." Moving in closer.

"......new perfume? It smells divine. You must share!"

"Dinner?" She asked, sitting back in her chair and folding her hands. "Seems a bit common..." Normally they skipped frivolities like food and went straight for alcohol.

She grinned. "Aww... Do you miss me?" she asked sweetly, and teasingly, of course Malicia didn't, and Scarlet knew damn well. But one must keep up appearances...

She returned his glare with a smug, triumphant grin, and pushed past him to seat herself on the edge of Scarlet's desk.

"You're coming to dinner with me." She started. "I think we should celebrate. I think we've both let ourselves become consumed by work, and not enough play."

Scarlet was so accustomed to Malicia's entrances she barely batted an eye. Nigel was sitting across from her, stack of papers in hand and going over something rather in depth. He, on the other hand, looked highly annoyed at the interruption.

"It can wait." Scarlet said to the man. "Go on, I'll speak with you later." A gentle shoo motion with her hand and a clearly irritated Nigel stood from his chair, pushed his large glasses back up into his bill and walked out. But not before casting Malicia a dirty look.

A sigh. "Sorry about him. It is that time of the year when his skills are needed most. Poor thing is overworked." She motioned for Malicia to make herself at home, not that she needed the invitation.

                          "What is your news?"

Much like certain other supernatural entities, Mal seemed to be allergic to knocking.

"Yooo-hoo, Scarlet darling~" Bursting into her office unannounced.

                            "I have some exciting news!"

Understandable, really. It suited her. And the marketing opportunities would be endless.

There was also the little matter of pyrokinesis, strength, and super powered hickeys... Scarlet would have fun.

                              Not-snakelike-at-all smile. "A wise decision."

Talons of her own on one shapely hip. "The supposed Demon Queen will be in touch with you soon enough."

                              My word, the euphemisms.

"I trust you will handle her."

                              Indeed.

Scarlet fussed for a moment, having had the spell thrust upon her without her permission. It was, indeed, quite the violation.

“How DARE you change my form without my permission you disgusting snake of a woman!”

She stood to continue voicing her indignity, but paused… looking at her new claws— no more need for the artificial ones….

She turned her head to look back at her set of silky pitch black wings, and the long, flexible tail that curled in a sinister like motion at her ankles.

Huh… this seemed… probably more right than it should…

It was a quick revelation, and Scarlet made up her mind. “Very well. You’ve convinced me.”

                                She wanted this.

                                • Negaduck
                                  Negaduck

Scarlet's denial of any sort of bond between the two did not throw the witch. If anything, it was exactly what she wanted to hear.

"Funny, if I didn't know any better, of you both, I would've taken you to be the real demon."

Elemental power began to swirl around her waist, pooling at her fingertips.

                                  "What if form matched substance?"

The spell flew straight at Scarlet and, if it connected, she would be transformed. No longer a succubi in only behaviour, she would look the part too.

The sorceress gave her time to experiment with the change, to test her power, to feel the fire course through her veins.

"Find me Negaduck's soul, and I will make this permanent."

                                  • Scarlet

She silently agreed that when it came to Negaduck there was no severing. He was a lingring foul odor.

“Hm…” she rested her cheek against her hand, looking nonplussed. Alright… so he was back. No big concern to her considering her empire had always been self sustaining. If anything, she was optimistic on the up sale of certain publications now…

Then to the comment about Malicia, Scarlet chuckled deeply. “What arrangement Malicia and I have? It is all business, and neither of us is deluded in that fact.” She chuckled a bit more.

“I am not worried about that in the slightest. We both got along just fine when Negaduck was around.” If anything, Scarlet was pretty self assured that Malicia would continue to come visiting now that they had spend quality time together. “That is two misses. Got anything else?”

Because she was growing weary of this conversation.

                                      Negaduck

"Please. There's no such thing as severed enough when it comes to Negaduck."

                                      In many ways of speaking.

"Especially since he IS alive and is here in St Canard."

                                      This St Canard, notably.

"Interesting to see the effect that will have on whatever arrangement you have with Malicia, hmm?"

Nevermind the time and attention she has paid you are already being dramatically cut in half.

Nevermind she is already bartering with him for your affections, like you are some toy to share around.

That power and prestige you are so vested in is going to inevitably, dramatically, shift. And not in a way you will like.

“If you are on poor terms, it is likely earned.” She tossed her head back and finished her drink. That was not really a fair assessment… Malicia would hate someone based on the mere fact they wore last season’s shoes.

                                        Unimportant, really.

“He’s dead.” Scarlet said matter-of-factly. “That is about as severed as it gets.” Clearly, she did not believe the rumors of Negaduck’s return and… more importantly, she did not care.

She set her glass down and sat back once more, crossing her legs. “And what business is it of yours anyway? And what has you convinced that I will even help?”

She eyed the witch for a second… then grinned lightly. “You don’t appear to have much to offer me.” Hey… it’s a business after all. And Malicia brought in not only money, but a level of prestige and protection.

Not to mention an excellent roll in the sheets every now and again.

"I'm afraid her and I aren't on the best of terms, you see."

Being dumped into oblivion for a decade would not thaw relations either.

"Combined with the fact I want to sever the connection between those two-"

Or more specifically the hold she has over him, but let's not make her sound like the bad guy here.

"- I don't think she'll warm easily to the subject." Regardless of her internal temperature.

A snort. Friendly was not the term she’d use… she had a whole list of adjectives to describe their relationship— none of which were appropriate for a PG RPG main page.

“Then go ask her. Malicia likes talking about her soulish conquests.” And it was true… more like brag but either way, Scarlet saw absolutely no need to get involved.

“Weird weather.” she muttered nonchalantly as she sipped her drink.

                                              Straight to business.

"I want one piece of information out of her."

                                              Standing again, sparking with power.

"A simple matter of the location of one Negaduck's soul."

Lightning cracked outside. Weird, that wasn't in the forecast!

Scarlet sat back, not looking at all relieved that her work was being done for her… because she simply did not trust it. This just meant she’d be going back over it… a waste of time.

Coupled with the clear attempt at sucking up… hey, she was a master at that… Scarlet only grew more suspicious.

“What do you want?” she asked, taking her glasses off and setting them on the desk. She then reached for her bottle of whiskey, taking the time to pour herself a dainty little shot rather than swig from the bottle.

She offered none to the intruder before her.

Stubborn. Funny, somehow she was used to dealing with that.

Perching herself on one corner of the desk, the witch took in what was taking Scarlet's attention.

                                                  "Trivialities," she purred, not unkindly.

With a wave of her hand, the forms began completing themselves.

"A woman of your stature is far too important to be dealing with such nuisances, don't you think?"

                                                  So many nuisances.

Clearly annoyed by the interruption, Scarlet glared at the intruder from over a pair of very thick, very large librarian style glasses.

                                                    Not in the mood.

“Not hiring.” her flat response as she returned back to her computer screen. Honestly, didn’t that anyone know anything about the difficulties of convincing the feds that personal lubricant was not only a business expense, but a necessity?

Especially in the quantities that she purchased it in?

Probably came off as weird that the woman’s entrance was not received as an oddity but.. well, Malicia had been showing the porn star a few tricks over the past few years.

And had her own way of slinking in magically.

It was odd for a wind to pick up within an office. Not a strong one - Hades forbid anything disturb that pile of paperwork - but enough to ruffle a few feathers.

What was odder was the pair of gorgeous, thick lined eyes that had also winked into existence.

                                                      "Forgive the interruption..."

The rest of the owner's form slowly faded in. A tall, pale feathered duck in a clinging black dress. It perfectly accentuated her lithe frame before dissolving into smoke it seemed, spreading across the floor.

"... But I was hoping we could do business."
