The Daily Grind (RP)

Gemini had just finished filling up gas in her little green car when she checked her watch. She still had some extra time before she had to leave for work.

She had in mind to go inside and grab a coffee and a sweet roll before heading to work. When she did the usual, going to the coffee area and mixing what exactly she wanted before grabbing a sugar filled breakfast roll to go with it.

While in line to pay she became distracted a moment by the colorful lotto scratch tickets until she was next in line.

“Heyyyyy. Good morning,” she smiled at the cashier. She leaned over the counter a little to get a better look at the lotto tickets,  “Can I have one of those blue five dollar tickets? Thanks!”

As the cashier retrieved what ticket Gemini asked for, the agent saw someone familiar come in to the gas station, “Oh! Hi there!”

Feliciana walked from work, she used to take the magic serape her papá gave her until one day Gryzzlikoff got on her tail about it due to safety purposes so she walked now to and from work. Wasit a far distance? Absolutely, but the young woman was always full of energy so it didn't exhaust or bother her at all. She would walk to work in her uniform and if she was to sweat through it- she would use her magic to get rid of the stains.

      -

The blue jay looked at her watch- she had plenty of time left and the office wasn't too much further, so she decided to go into the gas station and purchase a bottle of water when she heard someone familiar- turning her head she saw an agent from S.H.U.S.H. that she had bumped into once or twice, but they never spoke. "Ciao!" She greeted the other in her native language- italian.

      "Are you working today?"

“Yep! Heading into the office soon. Just been desk jockeying this whole time though. I wonder how long I'd have to wait to be out on the field,” Gemini explained a little exasperatedly. She did understand S.H.U.S.H. not wanting someone that was new to them in the field right away. However, she was also getting bored and knew her skill set could be used in a much better way.

She signaled to the cashier with two fingers that she wanted to more of the scratch card she just picked out, “I guess you're headed that way too? If you’re grabbing something small just add in into my stuff so you don't have to wait in line.”

"The only time I am called to the field is if there is magia involved or if they need a translator." The bird informing with a shrug of her shoulders. "Maybe they are waiting until a mission best suits specialities?"

          -

"Si, I am." She answered with a nod, smiling gently. "Ever since Gryzzlikoff told me not to use mi serape to fly to work, I have been walking to and from work everyday." She wasn't complaining, she seemed rather happy with it- but then again, the bird was always happy.

          -

"Grazie!" She smiled happily at the offer, putting her water bottle on the counter. "I do not believe we have been properly introduced? My apologies! I am Feliciana Carioca-Pistoles!"

“Yeah, I do have a pretty peculiar skill set so maybe that is why,” Gemini shrugged before paying for the items. She was amused by Feliciana’s very positive energy.

The agent did not seem surprised at a mention of a flying g carpet, “Since you’re walking, I can give you a ride. I'm Gemini. Nice to meet you! I work with paranormal too. I guess I could do translation too but don’t let the office know that. I mean, I don't mind translating documents but there is an amount of patience I don't have to do it in real time.”

"That is so kind of you to be offering me a ride, amico!" The blue jay smiled happily, taking the other's hand and shaking it rather enthusiastically. Seems this bird was nothing but enthusiasm and positivity.

              -

Getting her water bottle, she followed her co-worker to her car. "I quite enjoy being in the linguistics department, it's always fun and exciting to speak and read in other languages! I really love it when someone sends in something from a dead language that needs translating!"

              -

Feliciana Carioca-Pistoles had to be the only agent in all of S.H.U.S.H. who enjoyed her work this much.

Gemini shook Feliciana’s hand in return. She was entertained by the other bird's excitement. She could imagine there were a few characters at the office that would be put off by it but she didn't mind.

"Dead languages are amazing,” she genuinely stated but not with as much enthusiasm as Feliciana. She then chuckled lightly, “If my eyes go bad before I'm fourty it'll from reading too much cuneiform in poor light. Do you have a favorite?”

Gemini walked over to a small green car, built much like a Mini Cooper. On the outside of the roof it had the bars associated with mounting bicycles on top. She hit a button on her keyring to open the car with a small beep.

“Let me get the door, they open in a weird direction,” Gemini said as she opened the passenger side door for Feliciana. The door was reversed hinged and lifted upwards like scissor doors on a sports car.

Feliciana's eyes lit up when hearing Gemini loved dead languages as well. Nobody else in her department liked it-- or even enjoying their work like she did. "It's so rare when we get them, but every time we do they give it to me! Guess it's because they know I love it so much!"

                    -

Of course she had no idea that the real reason why was because everyone else hated having to translate such an old language nobody used anymore. "I cannot choose really! Old Norse, Ancient Egyptian, Ancient Greek...You name it, I know it!"

                    -

"Stupefacente!" She exclained me awe at the car in her native language, her eyes widening and sparkling in amazement as she watched how it opened.

                    -

This is the coolest car I've ever seen, Gemini!"

“Yeah, it is hard to choose a favorite. Well, if they ever give you anything to translate that stumps you I'll be glad to help. I know I'd like help too sometimes. It's good to get a fresh set of eyes on things,” Gemini then chuckled at Feliciana’s reaction to her car.

“I wouldn't say it's the coolest car, but thank you! It does what I need it to do, and been through a lot too. It is kinda low so watch your head getting in,” she added just in case.
