The Great Wilderness [Open RP]

It was a dark morning in St.Canard and inside one of the windows of a small apartment would be Max rummaging around "Hmmmpf...Got my clothes sorted out...But damn...I'm missing some fishing poles and even some bait..." he mumbled out loud to himself. Max had recently undergone some intense crime fighting with some big heads in the crime world and with some kingpins behind bars, he could finally take a small break for a while...

Max had put some thought into where he wanted to go for quite a while but almost forgot how long it had been since he left the world of Zelum and decided a camping trip would help him remember his experiences in his home world. "Alright, perfect...That's the food and camping set packed up and ready to go...I guess I'll just have to rent myself a fishing hook...If I'm lucky to find one that is..." Packing up his stuff he sighed contently and looked out the window "Welp...Time to get moving while its still early...The day isn't gonna pause itself!"

And so, Max locked up his apartment nicely and headed out into the slightly cold morning until his map led him to 'St.Canard's Wilderness Park' all that was left around him were plenty of trees and wilderness. Max approached the vendor and purchased his ticket to enter the park and soon proceeded to head inside to the deep woods and he eventually reached the lake and took a deep breath "Ahh....This atmosphere reminds me of my first weeks of my journey in Zelum...Just me and the huge wilderness..." Max laid down his luggage and laid beside a tree for a moment and closed his eyes and listened to the sound of the wilderness and relaxed for a while....Surely nothing could possibly break this relaxing silence....

As his eyes scanned the shoreline Max would see a fishing pole with a bite on the line.  But where was it’s owner?

There was a loud snore from the otherside of the tree.  If Max investigated he would find a goose sleeping with a dapper little hat over his eyes.

Nothing would “break” the silence, exactly, but on the other side of the lake, out of both the dozing fisherman’s view and the other camper, someone might notice a sound that was a little more melodic than the birds chirping and squirrels chattering.  It rose and fell softly, but it eventually led to a woman seated by the lake, her feet in the water, her back to the trees, and her head tipped up toward a tree nearby.  A bird was watching her and twittering in response as she sang to it.

“High up in the blue sky
Wings of hope are spreading wide
        A white dove is dancing
        Flying free and happily

        White dove,
        White dove,
        Flying higher and higher

Lest my country's clean and blue skies
        Should be cloudy and grey.”

The collie’s voice was sweet and clear, floating almost birdlike as she started humming the haunting tune. She got up and waded into the water.

Max slowly opened his eyes as he woke up from his relaxed consciousness and heard the loud snoring and singing which woke Max up "Hm...?" Max slowly sat up on the tree as he realised he almost got too comfortable and fell asleep. Max slowly awoke and noticed the figure who was wandering about in the water. Max got up and stretched which followed with a small weary yawn. Max walked forward to the lake and noticed a fishing hook resting beside the lake which made Max smile with hope "Ah, good...Looks like there just might be a rental around here!" Max soon took notice of the fishing pole in the distance and had a hopeful smile on his face.

Max soon heard the obnoxiously loud snoring again and followed the noise to find a goose fast asleep which made Max scratch his head "Huh....I guess I'm not the only one here with an interest for fishing and relaxing to the nature. Max didn't want to interrupt him from his sleep so he merely watched the lake while also occasionally glancing at the singing stranger as he was curious to see someone up so early basking in a lake. Of course...While some may look at that as a pervy manner, Max was only innocently curious but to avoid looking suspicious, Max looked over at the lake most of the time.

There was a soft humming as a sweet voice, though slightly off tune, followed the collie's singing.

A few birds flew off towards a little redhead child with pink frills who was picking flowers and placing them in a basket.

"Thank you!" she said with a smile to the birds who picked a flower that had been hard to reach for her and held it out for her.

She soon reached the lake and noticed the woman wading in the water.

"Oh, hello! I didn't realise someone was singing!" she bobbed a curtsey in greeting. "You have a lovely voice."

The abandoned fishing pole gave a large heave as a massive fish leapt out of the water it was caught on the hook. As this happened another, even bigger fish launched at the frantic catch and they collided mid air. The line whipped around in a propeller fashion before the fish on the string slid off the hook to fly through the air toward the tree.

Gladstone mumbled something in his sleep about shaking hands with a one armed bandit and rolled onto his side. His hat plopped on the ground upside down just in time for the airborne fish to land neatly inside it.

The fishing line lost momentum and it’s hook slid back into the water. The snoring continued.

Carol heard bird wings flapping and a voice approaching.  She waded out of the shallows, gave herself a good shake and pulled on her overshirt.

“Thank you. Hello. Your dress is darling.”  Carol swished her tail and smiled kindly. “Are you with someone?”

Max soon saw the fishing pole tugging and looked to the sleeping goose "H-Hey your fishing hook is--" Max watched as he saw the insane series of events as the fish flew and collided in the air and Max realised how one fish in particular landed in his hat and as Max looked down he saw a huge one "...W-Wow...That was probably the most craziest thing I have seen yet..." he said out loud to himself while blinking as he processed what he had just witnessed.

Max soon turned around and saw another person appear from the woods and scratched his head as he wondered where her parents were and realised she looked almost as if she had jumped right out of a fairy tale book. Max glanced at the girl curiously...She looked like a familiar girl he'd seen before...One that had aspired to be a superhero....Shaking his head, he noticed the way she was acting wasn't remotely the same as the young heroine he'd come across during his first days in St.Canard.

Max walked past everyone and grabbed his pack and stretched "Well...I guess its time I unpacked..." he said as he opened up his luggage and grabbed his camping set and was soon straight to work as he built it up rather swiftly, but also accurately. Almost as if he'd done it a dozen of times in the past. Max soon had finished his camp and looked around him "Hmm...I guess I'm gonna need...Some wood for a fireplace...Now if only they had some axes here or some spare wood..." he spoke out loud. Almost as if he was working in a group. But really, it was only to help his train of thought.

Gosalyn blushed and giggled. "Thank you. I made it myself," she told Carol. "And I'm alone! I wanted to pick some wildflowers. Look how many I've got!" she showed her the basket.

                    "I'm Gosalyn. What's yours?"

“I see! They are lovely.” The collie admired the flowers. Her ears lowered uncertainly. “But this is a long way to go to collect flowers. Is your family or chaperone in the trailer park? I’d be happy to walk back with you. My name is Carol.” She wagged her tail.

Max continued to check down some things he needed and noticed the conversation between the two but didn't want to rudely butt in and continued his checklist. Max eventually sighed and walked around to search for any wood that could be taken for free. If it was gonna last a while...he'd need plenty of wood.
