((Not really reserved for anyone in particular. Just please ask to join unless you've already spoken with me on it :) Lets snoop through Mal's stuffs! ))

For the most part, Jade had been keeping her head down as far as her thefting went. Wait for the dust to settle... let some others take the spot light for a bit-- take the heat off her. She did not want to make front page news.

But she was not one to sit by idly, so after poking around the darker corners of St. Canard, a particular flier had caught her attention. Weapons... of the unique variety? That was an interesting prospect. Arms dealings were nothing new, but the added benefits that were advertised... at the very least she wanted to be aware of what was about to start entering the criminal world.

So, Jade was silently sneaking around the bad side of town, doing her best to keep out of sight-- not that anyone would really care. It didn't take her long to find a certain warehouse... getting in would be tricky. Would it really be as simply as slipping through the gate?

She was small enough for it....

But first she'd wander around the peremiter and check out her options. "Pretty guarded for a warehouse on this side of town..." she muttered.

The warehouse was, for the most part, seemingly vacant. No armed guards. No impenetrable fortress. Not too much in the way of electronic security.

Either the owner was severely underestimating the greediness of St. Canardians or she had some other trick up her sleeve...

Regardless, the lady of the warehouse was preoccupied, having finished her most recent conversation with one, psychopathic masked mallard. Now she was soaking herself in a very soothing, desperately-needed bubble bath, and possibly reconsidering some major life choices. You know, just a typical low-key evening in the Macawber helm-stead.

Downstairs, the warehouse itself was dark and quiet. Business was closed for the evening, and having just finished the first-gen collection of enchanted weaponry, much of it was left strewn across her workshop on tables and leaning against walls. Everything from Flying Monkey Grenades to Aura Tasers could be found among the pile of shiny items. A few weapons had been crudely labeled with tags, but many still remained a mystery for the time being...

(( OC: so long as it does not interfere with anyone's plans. :) so be sure to check before jumping in.))

            No security? Really?

Red flag. Major red flag. Stupidly large, blazing red siren red flag...

            But... her curiosity...

Biting her bottom lip on a silly little grin, Jade began to quickly scale the bars and slip over before landing lightly on her feet. Keeping low to the ground she began to scurry her way over to the door, which she leaned against to open.

... what? She didn't have to make this difficult... seeing the empty, dark warehouse, Jade gave herself a moment to let her eyes adjust before wandering in.

It was eerily quiet, except for the very distant sound of what might have been the lady of the house shrieking singing.

There was a light-switch somewhere along the wall, which, if Jade felt around, she might be able to give herself better light.

Or she could follow the ominous glow coming from somewhere ahead, through a shelf of books.

              • Piper/ Jade
                Piper/ Jade

Pausing only for a moment to listen to the noise-- distant. Her common sense spoke strongly against a light switch, but not the glowing.

                Huh.

Glancing back toward the door she left open just ever so slightly, Jade started for the glow, letting out an intrigued 'hmm' as she went.

Down the row of bookshelves, past a jar of floating eyeballs and pig's tails, was a shelf filled with swirling orbs of energy. Each one labeled with a name and a price tag. The colours of the orbs seemed to range from a soft yellow to dark purple.

From behind Jade, something let out a large squawk and flapped its wings, knocking over glass objects which smashed to the floor.

She took her time, looking over the orbs with confused curiosity. What were they?

She knew what an eyeball or a pig's tail was, but the orbs were something different. She would have snooped a bit more f not for the squawk that was so loud she went rigid. The following smashes of glass did nothing to help and without wasting time. Jade spun around and sprinted back the way she came.

                    Outtie. Later flappy whatever-you-are!

                      But the exit was blocked.

By a massive, snarling, three-headed dog.

It opened one of its gaping maws to let out a thunderous bark, and the other two heads snapped at the air, spittle flying in all directions.

                      Helloooooo Pringles!

                        Piper/ Jade

                        ((Oh yay, Pringles!!!! :D ))

She skidded to a stop, pushing back slightly and effectively landing on her bottom. For a moment she gaped and then after a though clearing series of blinks she spoke.

"Uh... nice pupp...ies?" Was this a plural situation?

Slowly, the cerberus advanced on her. The rumble in its three throats reverberated off the walls in all directions.

My, those were some very big teeth.

Her choices were limited at this point. The exit was blocked, but the warehouse itself provided plenty of space to maneuver around in, including narrow spaces where dump-truck sized dogs could not fit. What's a thief to do?

                            Piper/ Jade

She slowly moved back, glancing around for her options. For a moment she wished she had turned on the light.

                            Well...

Scurry! Jade tore off through the warehouse, trying to look for someplace to escape. Seeing some crates, that she assumed were up for shipping, she quickly squeezed in. They were spread enough for a person to get through, but not a big dog. It also provided a wonderful maze, and she took a couple turns just in case the three headed dog managed to follow her somehow.

Risking a chance she stopped, pressing herself against the side of a crate in order to catch her breath.

                              Sniff, sniff, snuuuuuff.

Three noses were poking around the crates, and each inhale of her scent seemed to create a wind tunnel.

The beast let out a whine and circled the area. She was around here somewhere!

                                Trapped.

But not currently being digested, so that was a plus. Jade reached into her pouches and began sorting through her bobbles. Lock picks, glass cutter, cell phone, suspension line... Smoke bombs would be useful... confuse the dog while she sprinted for the door? Sounded like a plan b.

Should have packed a steak. She toyed with her cell phone for a moment... debating.

Quickly she turned it on and texted Jacob. Maybe he could at least distract long enough for her to get away? Maybe?

Why was she always causing him trouble?

.... okay to be fair the gala wasn't on her. Neither was the cruise.

Quickly she typed, 'Are you busy? In a bit of a bind.' She leaned back against the crate and trying to figure out how to execute her back up plan if need be.

It was a couple of minutes, which felt like forever, then a response.  Never too busy for you, little duck.  Tell me what you need.

                                    Thank goodness.

'Something to distract a three headed dog long enough for me to escape. Maybe you could bring a big bone? Slab of meat?'

Like it was the most normal thing in the world to have run into a three headed dog. Kneeling down she listened to see where the dog was, just in case he... she...? It? Somehow left on its own.

Lucky for Jade, Jacob had resources.  Even for something so out of the ordinary and out of the blue.

Although Pringles had conveniently blocked the outer door, it was still ajar, and in a few minutes in flew a small drone...from which dangled a giant steak.  It swooped in front of the three heads to get their attention, then zoomed off away from Jade's hiding place.

One of the heads was still sniffing around and was just about to break through the crates when the other two sniffed the air and then spied the steak. A tug-of-wear ensued between the heads as to which way to go.

It seemed the need for meat won out, and finally the great beast tore itself away from the crates to pursue the tasty treat.

                                          Piper/ Jade

It was comical, but laugh later! Hopefully the three heads would be distracted long enough.

She backed out of the crates and bolted for the open door. "I owe you one Jacob" she said to herself, reaching out to grab the door handle.

With a heavy swing she both exited and slamming the door closed behind her. Only then did she let out a short "hah... haha... HAHAHA--cough!" dry throat.

"What the hell." She asked, her breath finally slowing down as she turned to navigate her way off the property. That's right-- be indignant after you went poking your bill where it didn't belong. "Glowing orbs in jars... three headed dogs..." she shook her head. It couldn't get much weirder.

                                            Spoken too soon.

"My my, who do we have here?"

Standing outside, hair still wet, Malicia advanced on the trespasser. Looking her up and down for a moment, she smiled a large, fanged smile.

"Don't you know it's rude to walk into other people's homes?"

Pause... pointing back. "You live in the warehouse?" It was a serious question. With all the shipping crates and hoozits and whatsits-- she has not come across a single sign of comfort. Not that it changed Malicia's point.

Then tilting her head. "I've seen you before..."

Blank stare. She certainly didn't recognize this masked bandit.

"Yes, this is my property. Which is why I don't take kindly to strangers digging around in my belongings. But you've learned why that's a bad idea, haven't you?" A knowing smirk.

It was hard making small talk when she was still trying to place her...

                                                  Wait...

"You were the model at the gala party that Bushroot crashed, weren't you?"

She chuckled darkly. "Pringles loves to get acquainted with new meat. How you made it out of there in one piece..."

That train of thought halted by her next statement.

"You were there, were you?" Try as she might, she couldn't place the woman's face. Quite likely because there was nobody present at the gala wearing a mask and alluring spandex suit. Which meant, she had probably been there under a different identity.

Which made no difference to Malicia in the end. Disguise or no, this woman was a trespasser.

"Tell me why you came here tonight, and I'll let you leave in one piece." A fair bargain, yes?

"Maybe. Or I saw it in the news." Because that is how the media do. But it was beside the point.

One piece left a lot open... but again there was no sense in lying.

"Curiosity." She said with a shrug. "I found a flier..." yes. A flier. She whipped it out of her pouch, and showed it to Malicia. "I don't know what enhancements are being sold, I just want to know what the competition will be using to try and off me for making off with their shiny off-ables."

Her eyes slid up to regard her. "Granted, this was meant to attract paying customers.
