Friendship is manic

(OOC: For Lilly and Negaduck)

Everyone needed friends. Not every had them, or wanted them, or even, in some very, very rare cases, deserved them. But people certainly needed them. There was something about a support system that made your way in the world easier. That made you a better person just for having them, because you wanted to repay their support by being your best self. And you could be your worst self with them, and get it out of your system so you were less of your worst self with the rest of the world.

That was what Lilly believed anyway. Though if you were to come out and directly ask her if someone like, say, Negaduck, should have friends, she'd immediately want to say yes, but would more realistically hesitate and not be sure how to answer.

Because honestly, while it might improve him, particularly right now as she saw him smashing things with reckless abandon on the other side of the street and was trying not to make eye-contact, it raised the scary question of what sort of person would ever want to be friends with him.

Lucky, because the villain smashing things with reckless abandon didn't want any friends. He had a strict no friends policy.

Despite that, as he put multiple dents into a post box with another post box, his apparent rage was spilling into something else, like so many destroyed letters fluttering into the sewer.

      Was that.. anguish?

      "WHY."

Certainly seemed like anguish, the drop to your knees and yell at the sky kind of vanquish.

      "WH-H-HH-HY."

Was he snobbing? Granted it was a shout, laugh, screamy sort of sobbing, but it definitely wasn't normal. Whenever was it with him though?

        That was

not an emotion she'd seen on him before. It wasn't a good look, and normally she'd be right over there trying to find out what was wrong, even if it was a complete stranger.

But he wasn't a complete stranger. He was Negaduck and historically dealing with him had never worked out very well for her. Wasn't it when she'd met him on the street last time that he'd shot her with an arrow that made her nasty?

... admittedly, she might have engaged him first, she couldn't really remember now. But this time, this time, that would not happen. Putting a hand to the side of her face to hide from his general direction, and thus making herself even more obvious, she tried to walk away.

Somehow yelling wasn't solving his worries. Weird, usually yelling solved all his worries, or at least gave him some satisfaction.

Time to try a different tack.

"YOU THERE, RANDOM FEMALE." Not realising who she was but roping her in anyway. "I demand you answer for your exasperating species - ARE YOU ALL INSANE."

          Insane pot meet kettle.
